Display Confirmation Message on GridView Deleting (ASP.NET 3.5 Visual Studio 2008)

I want to share how to get a confirmation popup when deleting a record from a ASP.NET 3.5 Gridview.
Here’s how you can do it.
First create the javascript function and place it in your head section.

function ConfirmOnDelete()

return confirm(“Are you sure to delete ?”);
}
</script>
</head>
Then add a Template field in your gridview like shown below, look at the CommandName attribute, that’s important.

Thanks @sukhjit for motivating me to stop coffee for a while, I’m at day 2 now

I was thinking about giving up coffee for a while and then I read Sukhjit’s tweet about giving up on coffee for the month of August, that made me think……
I actually didn’t have coffee the first day becuase we forgot to bring the coffee machine to our camping location.
But somehow it didn’t work then, I got coffee from my sister in law who drove a few miles to get coffee for herself (MacDonalds), and couldn’t resist the offer.
So after all I decided to give it another try and that is now. I’m at day 2 now..
